こんにちは Konnichiwa! 🤗
Why do I greet you in Japanese today?
As you can read from the my title, today I will be taking you to the Butterfly X Dolly Wink Christmas Party we had at KAKIYUKI earlier this December.
I'm sure you heard of Dolly Wink's false eyelashes before. The brand belongs to the Koji-Honpo branding umbrella, and it kinda setting the benchmark for all Japanese beauty brand who makes falsies. If you don't know, now you know. 😉
Before we go into more details, I would like to thank The Butterfly Project for organizing this event. Special thanks to our Mamasan, Tammy - the lady behind The Butterfly Project! ❤
Without further ado, come follow my camera lens and I'll show you around.
First of all, let's talk about the venue.
This is my very first time at KAKIYUKI. 🍨
Why it is called "KAKIYUKI"?
The brand is named after the Japanese shaved ice dessert, which is called "Kakigōri (かき氷)". This dessert is usually flavored with syrup and a sweetener, often condensed milk.
People might thought kakigōri is the same as Korean bingsu; in fact, they are similar, yet not exactly the same thing. The consistency of the shaved ice makes the difference. Kakigōri has a much smoother fluffier ice consistency, much like newly fallen snow. 🌨❄
Initially, the brand called itself "KAKIGORI", but later changed to "KAKIYUKI" where "YUKI" is the name of the girl character appeared in their brand logo.
"Ice may melt in the hot sun, but my heart melts when you smile."
The setting and cute decorations make the place a comfy place to hangout.
It's a Japanese dessert party! 🍰

I am a big fan of custard-made desserts, so my favourite among these would undoubtedly go to the Yoyogi custard pudding. 😋
The event officially kicked start past 1PM, with the brand introduction conducted by Leonard and Tammy.
How is THIS launching different from the falsies introduced earlier?
As far as your concern, nope, I barely can read Japanese (even though I call myself 'sakura', what a liar xD). Basically their tagline printed in bold reads, "lashes extension in 10 seconds - easy lash". Meaning to say, Dolly Wink is aiming a quick fix of falsies in just 10 seconds! That is FAST! Well, personally I still think it really depends on the skill and technique.
Here's how-to tutorial:
In conjunction to Dolly Wink's 10th anniversary, they launched a new series of quick fix falsies in Japan, with a total of 16 designs, targeting for 4 different occasions. Thankfully these handy falsies are now available too in Malaysia! (check out 4allbeauty)
In this session with Dolly Wink, we are handed a goodie bag full of Dolly Wink signature products worth RM250+! Arigato!!! 🙏🏻
To mention, there was a Dolly Wink Eye Makeup Contest going on that day. We are to create an eye makeup look using only the brand's products.
Here we got 4 different types of falsies: No. 6 (Light Blue), 10 (Orange), 11 (Yellow) and 16 (Purple).
No, I didn't win the contest 😂
But I'm already pretty content with what I have gotten today: kakigōri, beauty products and new friends! 💕
