Skin-loving goodness is better shared - that's the core value behind Miniel Skinlab. This brand is founded and based in Malaysia by a girl who is passionate in creating and developing skincare products that would nourish all skin types, even the sensitive ones, like her own. The #girlboss her name is Janice.
She wanted everyone's skin to be beautiful and flawless, so they can happily flaunt the world, confidently. With that saying, she carefully handpicked and combined a plethora of skin-loving ingredients to create her best skincare recipes, without leaving holes in the wallets.
Effective. Affordable. Gentle. These are her ingredients to beautiful and flawless skin.
Currently the brand has 1 product line - Hydraque series, which consists 2 products in their line up:
- Hydraque Gel Mask; and
- Hydraque Boost Serum.
Miniel Skinlab sent me all 2 products to try out (thank you!). And I wish to take a moment to appreciate the package they sent over.

What product is this?
The Miniel Skinlab's Hydraque Gel Mask is a wash-off gel mask that hydrates and nourish skin, leaving it radiant, plump and youthful.
The main benefits as promised by this wash-off gel mask are:
- Soothe and calm inflammation skin;
- Revive dull looking skin;
- Increase skin elasticity;
- Soften skin and reduce fine lines;
- Anti-redness and dryness; and
- Promote cell regeneration.
What are the key ingredients and their functions?
Kudzu Extract which calms allergies, reduces redness and inflammation. (origin: France)Watermelon Extract is rich in vitamin C, Amino Acids and Lycopene to promote cell regeneration, moisturize, cleanse and exfoliate sun-damaged and aging skin, giving a youthful appearance. (origin: United States)
Apple Extract is also rich in antioxidants like vitamin C and natural acids to help improve the appearance of oily, acne, dull and aging skin. (origin: United States)
Lentil Extract contains vitamin B5 and Trisaccharides to moisturize skin and help increases intracelullar hydration, reducing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. (origin: United States)
Sodium Hyaluronate is small-sized molecules that able to penetrate deeper into the skin layer. It has the ability to attract and retain water substance, making it the ultimate skin moisturizer. (origin: Korea)
I have ran an ingredient list analysis on skincharisma and found out that this product is paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free and EU allergen-free. Nevertheless, not all the ingredients passed the EWG green-level, meaning to say it may cause irritation for some people.
Just to put it out there, all ingredients are Halal Certified.
Packaging
If you have read enough my past reviews, you can tell I always love minimalist packaging. I must say, Miniel Skinlab has brought the minimalist packaging standard to a new level. There isn't many wording printed on the product itself, besides the name of the product and size.
The product came in a heavy and sturdy glass container (as below) with matte-finishing touch. It comes with a plastic spatula to scoop out the product.
The product itself comes in a box. I love the sky blue and white colour combination, with silver hologram wording imprinted on it.

Texture and Scent
Hydraque Gel Mask comes in this crystal blue transparent gel. Its watery gel-like texture is spreadable easily and absorbs quickly into the skin. It has this "memory form" which it will goes back to its original form, regardless how I mixed it up.
It has this unique "ocean breeze" scent, which I have never encountered before. The scent itself is quite prominent, and some might find it overwhelming.
Application
As suggested by Miniel Skinlab the brand itself, apply sufficient amount of this wash-off mask over cleansed face, and leave it for 15 to 20 minutes. Then rinse it with water and proceed with the rest of your night skincare routine.
Here's how I incorporate wash-off mask into my night routine.
PM routine:
Makeup remover > Cleanser > wash-off mask here > Eye Cream > Serum
Your skin will feel cool after applying it, which brings down skin temperature. Best to use after long hours sun exposure.
Suggested usage is 2 times in a week.
I would say, depending on your skin condition when you start to feel your skin tighten up, proceed to wash it off.
Personal Experience
I have been using Hydraque Gel Mask for a couple weeks now. What I noticed is that my skin is soft and tender after using this wash-off mask. Skin temperature is brought down. It soothes and calms tired skin.
However in terms of hydrating effect, I would say the Hydraque Boost Serum has the better hand. As I'm getting older, my skin needs more intense skin moisture. This product would better suit for teenagers and early 20s.
One thing to note would be its fragrance. It is quite prominent, so you can't miss it. Is either you like it, or the other way round. Personally, I think the scent is quite a scent trigger to my sensitive nose. I will still continue using this product, while avoiding apply it under my nose.
