Skin-loving goodness is better shared - that's the core value behind Miniel Skinlab. This brand is founded and based in Malaysia by a girl who is passionate in creating and developing skincare products that would nourish all skin types, even the sensitive ones, like her own. The #girlboss her name is Janice.
She wanted everyone's skin to be beautiful and flawless, so they can happily flaunt the world, confidently. With that saying, she carefully handpicked and combined a plethora of skin-loving ingredients to create her best skincare recipes, without leaving holes in the wallets.
Effective. Affordable. Gentle. These are her ingredients to beautiful and flawless skin.
Currently the brand has 1 product line - Hydraque series, which consists 2 products in their line up:
- Hydraque Gel Mask; and
- Hydraque Boost Serum.
Miniel Skinlab sent me all 2 products to try out (thank you!). And I wish to take a moment to appreciate the package they sent over.

What product is this?
The Miniel Skinlab's Hydraque Boost Serum is a moisture serum that revitalize and hydrates skin, fir smoother, softer, young-looking skin.
The main benefits as promised by this hydrating serum are:
- Smoother and softer skin;
- Soothe and calm inflammation skin;
- Revive dull looking skin;
- Enhance natural skin vitality;
- Reactivate the tissue regeneration; and
- Achieve youthful skin.
What are the key ingredients and their functions?
Yeast Extract is an antioxidant that helps strengthen skin structure and a great source of Beta-Glucan anti-inflammatory benefits to reduce redness and other signs of irritation. (origin: Switzerland)Sodium Hyaluronate is small-sized molecules that able to penetrate deeper into the skin layer. It has the ability to attract and retain water substance, making it the ultimate skin moisturizer. (origin: Korea)
I have ran an ingredient list analysis on skincharisma and found out that this product is paraben-free, sulfate-free, alcohol-free, silicone-free and EU allergen-free. It has minimal ingredients, which is a bonus point.
Nevertheless, not all the ingredients passed the EWG green-level, meaning to say it may cause irritation for some people.
Just to put it out there, all ingredients are Halal Certified.
Packaging
If you have read enough my past reviews, you can tell I always love minimalist packaging. I must say, Miniel Skinlab has brought the minimalist packaging standard to a new level. There isn't many wording printed on the product itself, besides the name of the product and size.
The product came in a heavy and sturdy glass container with matte-finishing touch.
The product itself comes in a box. I love the sky blue and white colour combination, with silver hologram wording imprinted on it.

Texture and Scent
Hydraque Boost Serum comes in this sky blue transparent watery serum. Its slippery texture is spreadable and it can be a little bit soapy when first applied. Nevertheless, it absorbs quickly once it is applied on the skin - for my case, less than 1 minute till fully absorbed.
It has this "out of the bath" powder scent which I find it refreshing. If to compare with Hydraque Gel Mask, this here is less prominent and much acceptable. But still, it contains fragrance. It's either you like it, or the other way round.
Application
As suggested by Miniel Skinlab the brand itself, pump serum bottle once and massage serum gently into the skin after toning. Then finish off with a moisturizer.
Here's how I incorporate serum into my night routine.
PM routine:
Makeup remover > Cleanser > Eye Cream > serum here > Moisturizer
It provides deep hydration and you will notice your skin plumped and bouncy after using it.
Personal Experience
I have been using Hydraque Boost Serum for a couple weeks now. I really enjoyed the plumped and bouncy, without feeling sticky or greasy after using it. Its deep hydrating effect is promising, so I come back for this product every night.
If I was to choose one favourite product from the Hydraque line, I will definitely vote for Hydraque Boost Serum! This product better suits my skin condition, providing me the hydration which my skin thirst for.
Similar to its Hydraque Gel Mask, the only thing to note would be its fragrance. Although the scent is mild and refreshing, I would prefer it to be fragrance-free if possible, and that will be perfect.
