[Review] The Face Shop - Real Nature Avocado Face Mask + First Impression

It's been a while since I last used any product from THE FACE SHOP. So happened I got this as a gift from friend, might as well give it a try and share my thoughts with you here.

What is this product?

THE FACE SHOP's Real Nature Sheet Mask is a series that features a variety of natural ingredient in the making of the sheet masks. Particularly, Avocado extract has moisturizing and nourishing properties.

This sheet mask series is formulated without 5 addictives, namely parabens, triethanolamine, propylene glycol, tar colorant and mineral oil.

What are the key ingredients and their functions?

Avocado extract (Persea gratissima fruit extract) is rich in moisturizing and nourishing properties..

Packaging

The sheet mask comes in the typical packet with very straightforward artwork design, showcasing the avocado fruit.

Relatively they also chose the avocado green as the main text colour for product description, which is very sensible.

Texture and scent

They are using emulsion type essence for this Avocado face mask. The texture of an emulsion is between cream and gel.

As you can see (below), the essence is not much to be seen as they have been sucked into the sheet mask.

The essence comes in milky colour and it has a prominent fragrance to it. I don't reckon it's the scent of an avocado, but instead more of an artificial scent. If you are low tolerance in fragrance, please avoid it all together.

Although it didn't mention on their packaging, I believe they use cotton sheet mask as the texture of the sheet mask is very smooth and soft on the skin.

Application

Wash your face and apply toner. Remove mask from packet and gently unfold. Place mask onto the face and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. Then remove and pat in the remaining essence for better skin absorption. Proceed with the rest of your PM skincare routine.

As usual, I will replace moisturizer with sheet mask, avoiding from breaking my skin out.

Here's how I usually incorporate sheet mask into my night routine.

PM routine:

Makeup remover > Cleanser > Serum > Sheet Mask here > Eye Cream

At the moment, this works for my skin. If you have dry and chapped skin, do proceed by applying a layer of moisturizer to seal the moisture within.

Personal Experience

To be honest, I do not have high hope for this sheet mask at the first place. To me, it is more like a daily sheet mask. In other words, there won't be any active ingredient inside that gives you the "wow" effect instantly.

After sheet masking, I do noticed my skin is plumped and a bit sticky on the surface. Thanks to the nourishing emulsion essence that serves as an intensive moisturizing agent. And apparently, it is a bit too nourishing for my combination to oily skin, in which I have to wipe off a bit of the remaining essence in order to get rid of the oily feeling sitting on top of my skin.

If you have dry skin, this is for you.

The downside is no doubt its artificial fragrance which happens the scent is not my liking at all.
