[Review] Atopalm Real Barrier - Aqua Relief Gel Cream

Today I am going to share with you my thoughts after using Atopalm Real Barrier's Aqua Relief Gel Cream.

In fact, I have been wishing to try their moisturizer since I'm a big fan of watery gel cream.

What is this product?

It is a watery gel cream, a type of moisturizer that melts once touch the skin, allowing the product easier to be absorbed by the skin. 

What are the key ingredients and their functions?

Centella Asiatica Extract which is a good anti-inflammatory skincare ingredient that heals and repairs wounds.

Madecassoside has good antioxidant properties that could strengthen skin barrier.

Allantoin and Panthenol helps relieve sensitive skin effectively with its anti-allergic and anti-static properties.

Packaging

The moisturizer comes in a sturdy plastic container with a white twist-able lid (as below). 

I love how they use the cooling blue tone as the theme-colour as it gives people an impression of "cooling and soothing". I'm that kind of people who 100% buy the idea!

It comes with a protective lid inside, to prevent product from spilling.

And a mini spatula, to scoop out the product.

Texture and Scent

The gel cream looks highly emulsified, thick yet bouncy. Watch the gel cream bounces when you shake the container.

Once the cream touches the skin, it melts like butter and it glides on the skin swiftly.

Perhaps it might be hard to tell from the photos, but the moisturizer has relatively high moisturizing power compared to other gel cream I encountered before.

It has a hint of lemongrass and minty scent, but not overpowering.

Application

Apply after face cleansing to bring moisture back to the skin. Suitable to use for day and night.

However, since I have combination skin, I noticed this moisturizer is too moisturizing for daytime. I tend to look like I'm sweating, especially in this humid weather.

Hence, I prefer to use this moisturizer as part of my night skincare routine, like a sleeping mask.

PM routine:

Makeup remover > Cleanser > Serum > Aqua Relief Gel Cream > Eye Cream

Personal Experience

The moisturizer really creates a water-barrier, sitting on top of the skin, leaving my skin moist and plump on the next day. You would especially appreciate it if you sleep in air-conditioning room.
