Sandakan 3D2N Year End Trip
December 23, 2018 (Sunday)
Breakfast @ Fisheman Village Bridge No.2
- Address: Bandar Nam Tung, Fisherman Village, Bridge No.2.
Breakfast place which only the locals would know. The breakfast eatery place doesn't even have a business name to it, but people just roaming and filled the whole place.
In order to reach here, you will need to cross over a shabby-looking wooden bridge. Shabby as it seemed, but the villagers assured us that no one has fallen off the bridge.
It was a hidden jem. We didn't know about this place at first, until we met our Grab driver that morning. Knowing that we long for trying local authentic Spring Noodle (弹弓面), he introduced and brought us here.
No kidding, it was full house! I'm having a good feeling about this place. Can't wait for our food to arrive.
To note, curry toufu (咖喱豆腐) is only available on Sundays. Definitely don't miss it!
- Curry Toufu -
- Spring Noodle with Pork -
- Spring Noodle with Seafood -
- Prawn Dumpling (虾付) -
Probably the most satisfying meal for the whole trip! Not only the food is delicious, cheap, but also you can experience local culture.
The seller was sharing with us that their family has been staying in this village for 50 years and counting! Even though there are new development around the area, they choose to stay at this wooden floating house, to maintain the heritage.
It's really tricky to get here. Just in case your driver doesn't understand, you can show him this roundabout (below). Ask your driver to send you to this location and you should see the fisherman village from here.
That's all for now. Our Sandakan trip is coming to an end. Just one more post.
