Introducing the revolutionary makeup and cleanser 2-in-1 product - the Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser by Althea Korea!
Althea Korea's Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser | 150 ml |
Does the product truly delivers what it claims? Read on to find out! :)
People like me who isn't quite talented in makeup tends to take longer time and more effort. Once we are satisfy with our masterpiece, then it took even longer time to wash them off. You get that?
Then it drags until late night when I would blamed myself for unable to remove my makeup as I would with conscious mind..
What I need is a makeup and cleanser 2-in-1 product that would solved my laziness, if I may say that. :p
At first, when Althea announces that they are launching the Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser, I was suspicious about the whole idea of the product. Are you saying a product that could not only remove makeup, but also a cleanser, and also a serum? Honestly, I just don't know what to expect. :')
When the Althea Angel ambassador's package arrived my doorstep, I remove the packaging right away and can't wait to give it a try. Never have I been so anticipated of a product as much as I could remember. And so it happened that I just ran out of makeup remover! (just the right timing indeed!)
"This beauty superhero whisks away makeup, dirt, and oil with mint extracts while ensuring the skin stays cool and hydrated throughout thanks to a dual moisture cell system that envelopes the skin in a serum-like formula." -Althea Korea.
It comes in a plastic transparent blue bottle with a flip cap.
Key ingredients are:-
- Mint leaf extract - Cools down the skin and soothes irritations;
- Jojoba seed oil - Deeply moisturizes any dryness without feeling heavy; and
- Tea tree leaf extract - Has antibacterial properties that purify the skin.

As you would have noticed, this is not an ordinary cleanser. Not the usual ones I had before. I'm not saying for all, but this is revolutionary to me.
Recently my skin is giving me hard times, partly has to do with me pinching premature pimples and whiteheads. Hence, my skin is super sensitive and I'm actively looking for mild, gentle and soothing skin products. Apparently, this cleanser just fit perfectly in this category.
On top of that, I'm more anticipated to see how it removes makeup (yes, for sure).
The serum cleanser, as it's name defines, its texture is very similar to serum. There is some thickness to it, very much resembles the texture of an oil makeup remover. Slippery yet not entire like oil.
It has a very soothing fresh mint scent. Reminds me a little of toothpaste, but this is rather subtle.
The mechanic of how to use is rather straight-forward. Apply the cleanser on dampen skin and gently massage in circular motion. Rinse off with water.

Now let's move on to demonstration. :) This is how I'm going to start off. With my casual makeup look.
With a splash of water, we are ready to give it a try!
I'm taking some products on my palm and proceed to apply it on the face.
Massage in circular motion. Just like how you wash your face.
Now watch the makeup breakdowns and melts (as below).
It says rinse it off with water, but here I just want to show you its makeup removing power. So I'm taking a face tissue and gently rub on the area which I applied the product earlier.
See how the makeup came off on the face tissue? What's the difference from oil makeup remover? This product here is not too oily for my skin.
Well I didn't manage to take more demo photos, but this product removes my entire makeup - foundation, eyeshadow and eyeliner. It didn't take more than 30 seconds in the vanity and my makeup is all gone.
Speaking of its functionality, makeup remover is 100% legit. Good enough as a mild cleanser, but since my skin is normal to oily, I would prefer going for double cleansing using another product. Currently I'm using Cetaphil's Gentle Skin Cleanser and ISKIN's Deep Cleanser, alternatively.
However, in terms of pore purifying and pH balancing, I can't tell much about it. Considering its mild formula and my skin is getting less irritated nowadays (somehow I figured it out that I shouldn't be pinching my face frequently), I would say it is okay to use on sensitive skin type.
Having said that, I have been using it every evening whenever I wear makeup. I'm half way on finishing the bottle, so I'm planning to get it restock soon.
