Pantai Penarik
From Kuala Besut Jetty to Pantai Penarik takes an hour car drive, and it is totally worth the visit! If you come with family and kids, definitely a nice place to hang out, especially during weekends.Pantai Penarik, one of the most beautiful beaches in Terengganu, has this serene and breathtaking beautiful beach that stretches for miles! (and it's for free, no entrance fee needed YAY) You just ought to at least drop by here to admire its beauty.
There are many restaurants located along the beach and they even set up various "photo booth stations", i.e. swings, benches and small rest houses. Absolutely Instagram-worthy!
It was a sunny day with wind. So it's like very comfortable. Probably because it's Ramadan whereby the restaurants remain closed until 3PM, there barely has any people at the beach, except four of us (and some passing-by goats). Like seriously. It was kinda cool actually. :)
Masjid Kristal (Crystal Mosque)
From Pantai Penarik to Masjid Kristal is another 1 hour drive. As for this one, if you are not really an architecture-lover, perhaps you can skip this itinerary.
We came here because it says that it is one of the most beautiful mosque in Malaysia. Well, it is kinda fascinating by the outlook, but the truth is the building itself sure is lacking some maintenance and refurnishing work to be done.

Chinatown Market
From Masjid Kristal to Chinatown Market is about 20 minutes drive.Demographically per say, the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia has stronger Malay culture, and in result, you can rarely spot Chinese restaurants and stores.
However, the table turned when you arrived at Chinatown Market, or they call it "Kampung Cina Terengganu" (Chinese Village, Terengganu).
It's really interesting to find the shops with vintage signboards. This view is hardly seen in the cities nowadays.
Not only the signboards, but also the building itself. It feels like we are walking into time tunnel, heading back to the 80s.
As we are strolling down the street, we realized there are numerous paintings and artworks embedded in the surroundings. (Like Easter eggs!) Somewhat it reminds me of Penang.
Particularly, if you wish to know where does the World Heritage Lane located, it's easier to locate Star Anise Cafe. You can spot the wall paintings of the 7 Wonders just across the street.
