Hello and welcome back to another food blog post.
I can't wait to show you some good food locations here in Kota Kinabalu, my hometown. Follow me as I give you a peek on our dinner last Saturday.

Mad Ben Cafe, Kota Kinabalu |

My friends and I planned to dine in and have some catch up on last Saturday. Our meet-up time was 7PM. However, the cafe was already full house! We were 2nd on the waiting list and we waited for about 30 minutes for table (seriously!). Next time, do make reservations, guys.
It is an enclosed dining area. It's cozy inside, but quite noisy as people chating at the background. I can smell the good food already as I entered the cafe.
We quickly made our orders and patiently waited to be served. Despite the high demand, the waitresses attended to customers' request promptly and patiently, with smiles. I know it isn't an easy job for them, thumbs up indeed!
First, soups were served. My companions they ordered Mushroom Soup and Pumpkin Soup, respectively. The soups were pretty much on the salty side, as they claimed, but they went along nicely with the bread.

I reckon they change the menu from time to time. So, please just take it as a reference.
I was told that their thin crust pizza is a must-try. Hence, I ordered one Beef Pizza, and it was exceptional! They are very generous in the portion, and it is good for two persons. I just can't stop eating one slice and another. My friend also thought that she would order pizza on her next visit.

Coming up next, burger and french fries time. A friend she decided to order a set of Sloppy Lamb Burger and it was well presented as it was served inside an antique ceramic plate. As for the flavour, she thought everything a little bit salty, especially the fries.

The Lamb Shoulder took a little bit longer than other dishes. When it is served, we all were amazed by its generous portion. Three pieces of lamb shoulders dressed in gravy. My friend she thought it was just ok as she enjoys her meal after a long wait.

Last but not least, desserts for the Chu siblings.

Waffle with Chocolate Drip and Ice-Cream |
The waffle with chocolate drip was beautifully plated. Surprisingly we found the the chocolate drip in fact is made of dark chocolate, which is much bitter compared to those sweet ones we familiar. However, we thought it is a better match with the waffle and ice-cream, because it contras the flavours. The waffle is super crispy, not really my type of texture.
Overall, I thought it was a nice place to hangout with friends and family. Price range, above average, but still affordable. Definitely good foods to share.
'Til the next time then. Bye! ;)
