5D4N Getaway to Manila! 马尼拉首旅
June 25, 2017 (Sunday)
Mall of Asia.
From Manila Ocean Park to Mall of Asia, we took GrabCar again. It is quite a distance; the driver was kind enough to bring us around for a short distance. He was passionate in introducing his hometown to us, despite there is language barrier.
My heart skipped a beat when I look at the building. This is the place where BTS came to have concert in Manila! So near yet so far... Really hope they come to Malaysia again (>w<)
Mall of Asia is claimed to be the largest shopping mall in Philippines. Some even say, it will take 3 days 3 nights to go through all shops in it. Wow very impressive!
Well since we are not really in shopping, so here we are, a continuance of our food journey! :9
Tim Ho Wan (添好运) @ Mall of Asia.
My dad is especially fancy of Chinese food. He was the one who suggested to try out this Hong Kong dim sum flagship. Looks like high-end dimsum restaurant to me. Hmm. We shall see.
Menu |
The menu showcases their signature dishes with big size photos. All of them look so temptingly delicious. Which one should we choose?
Baked Bun with BBQ Pork (3 PCS) | 酥皮焗叉烧包 | P145 |
Prawn Dumpling (4 PCS) | 晶莹鲜虾饺 | P160 |
Pork Dumpling with Shrimp (4 PCS) | 鲜虾烧卖皇 | P150 |
Beef Ball with Beancurd Skin (3 PCS) | 陈皮牛肉球 | P120 |
Rice with Beef & Fried Egg | 煎蛋牛肉饭 | P180 |
Chow Mien Stir Fried Noodle | 鼓油皇炒面 | P130 |
Taro Coconut Milk with Sago | 香芋西米露(冻)| P120 |
Being known as Hong Kong's Most Famous Michelin Star Dim Sum, no doubt the taste are on-spot.
Highly recommend to try out their Baked Bun with BBQ Pork. The crust is very crispy and compliment well with the BBQ pork. Must try!
Their steam dishes are just so-so. Nothing much difference from other dim sum restaurants.
And because this flagship restaurant being rewarded of Michelin star, do expect their price is above average.
Llaollao @ Mall of Asia.
It's dessert time! Who wants some yogurt ice cream? Slurrrp.
Just right opposite Tim Ho Wan, we spotted this green-and-white themed dessert stall.
Llaollao (pronounced as Yao Yao) is a Spanish frozen yogurt franchise brand founded in Denia in the province of Alicante, Spain.
I was told that they even have franchises in Kuala Lumpur. (Meaning to say I'm away from KL for too long already...couldn't keep up with the change...)
For my first try, I went for the medium cup with 3 toppings, which costs P179. They aren't cheap, don't they? :')
In fact, there was a cliche when we try to put our order. The staff apparently doesn't quite understand English and we were trying to communicate using hand and body gestures. Initially I wanted to have cranberry drip, but he gave me dried cranberry fruit instead. Duhh. -.-
Anyway. The yogurt itself tastes just as I expected. It satisfied my craving for something cold and sour. Well to be honest, I can't really tell the different between Llaollao and Yogurberry :/ They taste the same to me. Hmm.
What do you think?
-stay tuned for more!-
