September 10, 2016 (Saturday)
Here we are, Gyeongbokgung!!!
After breakfast, we went back to Gyeongbokgung Station and came out from Exit 5.
There are signs everywhere, so you don't need to be afraid of getting lost ;)
경복궁 Gyeongbokgung 景福宮 |
**how to get to this location : take metro/subway to Gyeongbokgung (327),
Exit 5**
By the way, there is a National Palace Museum located beside the palace.
Just in case you can't find it, try to locate the museum instead.
But I'm sure you won't get wrong since many people will be going to the same direction as you.
First, you have to go to the ticket counter to purchase the entrance ticket.
Since it is a tourist site, staffs here usually do understand simple English and Chinese.
Just tell the counter person how many persons in your group,
then they will tell you how much to pay.
The entrance ticket costs KRW3,000 per person/adult.
You can calculate yourself and prepare small change beforehand.
We are inside the palace now!
Now standing on the large compound where the king assembles his court.
Can you observe the tall city buildings behind us?
Yes, you're right. The palace is located in the city center.
I mean, of course, the place where ancient kings lived should be at the center of the city,
correct?
Ancient vs. Modern, is that conflict?
Not at all :)
What I am impressed about Korean government is the effort they put in to preserve traditional and cultural heritage.
Thumbs up!
Everyone is taking shots from the middle door.
But I took from the side doors.
...because I'm different (?) hahaha
Seriously the palace compound is super big!!!
Can't help feeling want to play hide and seek! :D
It's a hot weather, but don't lose that smile on the face! :)
There is even a park inside!
Shall we go for a walk then?
Walking up and down the memory lane......
I'm curious of what is behind that door......
since it is locked O.O
(remember curiosity kills a cat, my dear)
We saw many people wear hanbok (Korean traditional costume) around the palace's compound.
But we found no rental stalls inside the palace compound.
Then we were told that the costume rental stalls are located outside the compound,
but it's too late since we already leaving......
So if you're planning to take nice photos with hanbok inside the palace,
please rent it before entering ;)
Goodbye~
Where are the people going?
Don't forget there is a show whereby the palace guards exchange shift in the front gate
(a.k.a. 광화문 Gwanghwamun 光华门).
It's almost 12 noon! Let's get ready~
